The spiritual interpretation of leap years

Now that the leap year 2024 has ended let us talk about it. When I was little my mom used to tell me that all leap years have some kind of bad luck that run in them. She would go on to further explain how leap years are hard, stressful and have a lot setbacks and disappointments. In summary leap years were unfortunate years.

My mother had always been a very sensitive, observant and superstitious woman as much as I respected her beliefs, I also wanted to find out myself. I couldnt just condemn leap years and prepare for dissappointments every leap year (I needed to observe my life and that of others during a leap year). If mama had learnt from experience, maybe I should learn as well.

After a careful observation of two leap years 2020 and 2024, these are the results I’ve drawn up. Stick with me to the end.

1. Are leap years bad luck?

No, leap years arent bad luck inherently but a few strange things could happen in your life that could make you believe that. Sometimes a leap year may appear totally different from other years, you might feel stuck, lost, or experience total stagnation or failure. It can also be the year where all the little setback from previous years pile up and eventually overwhelm you. All in all, leap years are not bad luck because yes, all these things i’ve listed above can happen in other years as well.

2. 2020 and 2024

In 2020 the whole world experienced a shut down, many people died and had their lives turned around while others made so much progress with the rise of social media in that time but there is no doubt that the year was strange and affected countless of individuals.

For me, 2020 was an amazing time to pause with the comfort of not feeling pressure. The whole world was on a pause too and that gave me peace ( very selfish, I must say). Unfortunately for me, my break was tougher than any other thing i had experienced and this happened for months at a time.

In 2024, I achieved a lot. Graduaded with a B.sc in computer Science and made a lot of progress on my blog but still it seemed so difficult compared to the three previous years. I was challenged and tested on several occasions. It was almost like I had never accomplished anything even though i did.

3. The verb ‘to leap’

The verb ‘to leap’ means to hop onto the next step and what happens before you hop? Let me break this down, just like a catapult has to be pulled back in order to propel forward it is the same way you also have to retract to take big hops. The short intense period when you have to retract to be pulled back is the period in which you are being prepared for the big hop. In other cases the leap years are when they experience thr journey to be propelled.

Conclusion

For you to achieve some certain things you have to take some time to strategize, plan and work for what you want. Those moments can feel repressed and you may feel like nothing is happening. In conclusion, leap years have different meaning to different people, do not live your life in fear. Enjoy the ups and downs and it goes, have an amazing year ahead.
